I have struggled with scribing tools for a long time and I've tried most of them with various levels of success and failure. I just received my Scribe-R on a recommendation from friends and tried it out last night. I was blown away at the performance of this simple little tool.
With very light pressure it will remove enough material to make a very nice panel line which is almost indistinguishable from the kit panel lines. Very light sanding is all that is needed to finish up. What sold me was how consistently it cut through dissimilar materials. Specifically I had used some CA glue to fill a previous scribe I tried to do with another brand scriber and needle chucked in a pin vise. Yes, I made several failed attempts with other brand tools. My experience doing this is that the tool tends to wander as it passes through the plastic and then the filler. The Scribe-R went through both the kit plastic and the filled scribes smoothly and consistently. Wow! I'm probably sounding like a commercial but I have to say that this is a "must have" tool for me. The others are now scrap.
Thanks for the great product!
